This is a close up of the shaft & globe neck that I found the other day...it was so delicate that I thought it would disintegrate before I got it to the surface. After managing to get it home intact, I did some work on it to help preserve and stabilize it. The reddish colour you see is from the iron they used to mix with the glass batch coming in contact with the air. It dates to the 1660s. This goes back to Bermuda's earliest settlers and helps shed new light on other objects I have found in the same area over the years. This is very rare for an inshore find.
